We understand that childcare costs are a significant consideration for families. Below you'll find information about the different funding options available to help with nursery fees.
Set up a tax-free childcare account and save 20% on your nursery fees. All fees are then paid directly through your tax-free account. This option is available for children of all ages.
Visit www.gov.uk to set up an account and check eligibility.
For children aged 2 years (the day after their 2nd birthday) until their 3rd birthday. Currently, eligibility is based on your postcode, but the Welsh government has announced funding for all 2-year-old children - we're awaiting more information from Swansea council.
If eligible, you can claim £16.25 a day term time toward your full or half day fees. You can still use your tax-free childcare account for the difference.
We also offer Flying Start only sessions from 1:00pm – 3:30pm every weekday during term time. These are free using your funding.
Visit Swansea Council website or contact Family Information Services Swansea to check eligibility.
For children the term after their 3rd birthday. You can claim up to 20 hours term time (£128 a week) and 30 hours for 9 weeks of school holidays (£192 a week).
The amount you can claim depends on hours your child attends school, and if we do pick up or drop off. The figures are based on the increase in childcare offer funding from 7th April 2025.
Visit www.gov.uk (government gateway account) for more information.
